Trilogy
The
trilogy Lichtvangers (Lightvehicle) are perfomances taking place in various
spaces, mostly in plublic spaces. Always
on 21 December, Midwinternight, the longest night of the year. Lichtvangers is about individual development told in three parts, using a triangle as metaphor of the individual coming a live, growing.

Inspiration > Midwinter Night
21 December is Midwinter Night. The sun will (if it does shine) radiate
for only a few hours. The night will be very long. So light will
be needed to overcome the darkness. Various sun- and fire-dancerituals
were developed to encourage the light, the sun to return. Folks
held manifestations for days to celebrate the sun. They treated
each other with gifts unifying their community for the future.
Wood, sprinkled with wine, oil or holy water, was burned.The saying
goes that this is the history of our current christmas-tree. All of this is our inspiration to choose this particular night for the performance Lichtvangers (Light Vehicle), Jheronimus Bosch being the inspiration. |
Indoor-performance
Final performance and closure The Light at the Verkadefabriek from 21.30 - 22.30. Entree 5,-
Beside the triangle the performers will also carry 5 round shapes which are metaphorical for the sun and the light. Five white balloons being the physical incarnation of the symbolical light. The ''captured'' light.
The 5 balloons are taken from the Parade to the indoor-location. There they will be handed over to Floor van Kollenburg. The object will be part of her choreography leading us to a soundperformance were Jack van de Ven and Isidoor W. Wens will lead us to the closure. Live music by UFEP, a band of 7 musicians.
